What to wear
Help! What Should I Wear?!?!
What you decide to wear is important. Your clothing should reflect your personality, and should be something you feel comfortable in. After all, a comfy and happy you will equate to happy and comfortable looking photos. :)
Try to avoid clothing containing logos, words or phrases, or prints; these are all distracting and will take away from the main subject (you!), and they will also seem outdated in just a year or two. Bright colors and clothing with textures look great! If there is more than one person being photographed, dressing in similar colors (although not necessarily matchy-matchy) will look best. If one person has a more patterned piece they’re wearing, make sure to pull colors from it that others will wear. Your wardrobes should be cohesive and should flow. Accessories (like hats, scarves and tutus) can also help diversify a photograph and make it special. Newborns look best in their birthday suits or a plain diaper cover.
I am more than happy to bring some of my accessories with me, or talk with you in more detail over any questions or ideas you have. I love to help brainstorm to make sure you get the end result you are envisioning. Can’t decide which outfit you’d like to wear? No problem–bring a bunch! I’m more than happy to help you go through them to see what will look best. I encourage as many outfit changes as you’d like. Afterall, this experience is about you! I want you to be thrilled with your photographs.
For kids, styles from GAP, Mini Boden, Matilda Jane, Hanna Andersson, J Crew Crewcuts or Gymboree photograph wonderfully.
